Hidden among the numerous discarded albums at the library,
the lonely, arguably unloved CD's.
Albums that haven't been signed out in so long, they're marked as obselete and stacked in plastic baskets to be sold for a dollar.
I quickly stopped by the library for a few moments this afternoon,
and decided to take a look through the items for sale.
As I searched through the books, nothing seemed too interesting.
Mostly books on birthing & parenting,
neither of which concern me at the moment.
I decided to give the CD's a shot, and found one that caught my eye.
A simple cover, decorated in simple colors, which bore a simple name.
"Fruit Bats."
The album name is "Spelled In Bones."
I heartily invested a loonie into my newfound treasure.
Completely unaware of anything about the band, it felt like a tiny adventure.
Came home, popped 'er in and fell in love.
Bluegrass, baby.
Almost, experimental bluegrass.
Guitars. Pianos. Echoes. Tambourines. Simple & beautiful lyrics.
Dang.
I love it when that happens.
Oh, and,
POST SCRIPT, baby!
I got seven inches of my hair chopped off.
And I LOVE IT.
