canoe'd

On being hit by a canoe:

This very canoe.

canoe

So, I took a trip last weekend.
A trip to my sweet, sweet homeland.
It was quick, but wonderful.

On Saturday, some friends and I headed out on a tobogganing adventure.
We had a good run, full of races & wipeouts.

As we walked down the hill and towards the car, I turned around to find myself face-to-face with a big, yellow canoe.
Or should I say foot-to-bow?
Inside this canoe were four teenage boys, weighing in at a total around 437 lbs.
The front made contact with my right foot, with a force that sent me flying.
My bottom half came up to the level of my upper half.
And then gravity kicked in.
I hit the ice on my left side, knocking the air right outta my lungs.

I'm making it sound ultra-dramatic, which is just something I do well.
But the truth is that after it was all over, we went back to the canoe for a photo-op.

It's okay.
I want you to laugh.
I am!

Because, really, how many people do you know that can say they've been hit by a canoe?

i laugh every time i think about it ... sorry!

wish i could have been there to see it, and then rip a strip off of those teenage hooligans. a canoe? really? in broad daylight? c'mon, wait until the sun goes down and there's no one else on the hill. that would be fun.

haha...that is funny. I actually really like that first photo.
I personally would like to try going sledding in a canoe! Those boys had a smart idea.
